Farmers Reveals the Secret to Keeping Berries Fresh for Weeks

It’s summertime. That means fruit salads, fresh berries, and strawberry shortcake galore. You can find strawberries in plenty in your local grocery and farmers market, but no matter how fresh you get them, berries always seem to go bad after a few days at home. It doesn’t seem to matter how quickly you eat them, there always tend to be a few leftovers in the carton turning fuzzy and slimy
Luckily, however, farmers have finally offered up some advice on how to keep strawberries fresh for longer (1)! Learn this simple technique quick and you’ll never have to face a smelly, mushy, half-rotten carton of strawberries again (2).

Why Do Strawberries Rot So Quick?

Strawberries are one of the summer’s finest fruits. It’s long-awaited, excitedly sought-after, and delightedly indulged in–but unfortunately, it’s one of the most difficult fruits to keep fresh. There’s something about this ground-dwelling plant that makes them difficult to keep delicious after harvesting. While on the vine, they are easily accessible to insects, but also to any and all bacteria that dwell above the soil. Strawberries are extremely susceptible to disease and fungi, so even when you wash away dust and dirt, you might be leaving behind a more destructive evil.
These lingering bacteria and fungi can turn your beautiful supply of bright, happy strawberries into miserable, squishy messes overnight.
This means that you not only need to rinse off the dirt, but you also need to disinfect your strawberries!
While it might sound like a daunting, even possibly toxic task, disinfecting your strawberries is much easier (and safer) than cleaning your house. You simply need to grab a few things that are most likely already in your kitchen:
  • A large bowl (or bucket)
  • A strainer (colander, salad spinner, steamer, etc)
  • Vinegar (3)
  • Clean, filtered water
  • Paper towels
  • Clean container with breathing holes
  • As many strawberries as you desire
Now, this won’t be hard at all. You start by placing as many strawberries as you want (or will fit) in your large bowl. You want to be sure they don’t surpass the top of the bowl because you’re going to be submerging all of the berries. You want to be sure your bowl is big enough to hold both berries and liquid.
Next, mix 1 part vinegar with 5 parts water to the bowl. For instance, if you use 1 cup of vinegar, you want to add 5 cups of water. Be sure to completely cover the strawberries. Strawberries sometimes have a tendency to float, so if this happens, you can either weigh them down or give the bowl a few good stirs.
You want every berry to soak in the water and vinegar mixture for three to five minutes at the very least. Since vinegar is a natural and potent disinfection, letting the strawberries sit in the mixture will allow the bacteria and fungi to be rinsed off and killed (1). Don’t worry about the berries tasting like vinegar afterward–it’ll wash off easily (4).
Once the berries have soaked for a satisfactory amount of time, strain the liquid out and shake off as much excess water as possible. You want the strawberries to be as dry as possible since the liquid is another cause of rotten strawberries. Moisture is the perfect place for fungi and bacteria to find a home, so you want to use the paper towels to dry your strawberries–or, lay them out so they can properly air dry.
Again, make sure the berries are perfectly dry before placing them in a container and refrigerating them.

Conclusion

Strawberries are a significant mark on summertime. Keeping them fresher for longer will only increase your pleasure in eating them, and save you from throwing out untold amounts of wasted strawberries. Just remember to keep them clean, disinfected, and dry. Then enjoy your summer!

Take Your Houseplant For A Walk Day

Learn about Take Your Houseplant For A Walk Day

Proud plant-owners can show off their leafy friends to the neighborhood when Take Your Houseplant For A Walk Day rolls around. The idea behind this day is to celebrate plants, and to acquaint plants with their immediate environment, which is supposed to be healthy for them. Plant-owners can admire each others’ plants, and exchange stories and tips on plant-care.
For those who find this concept a little strange, there are more conservative ways to get involved. Plants grow throughout their lives, and you can use this day as an excuse to re-pot any plants that might be getting a bit big for their abode. You can take your plant for a walk to a new location within the house, perhaps one where it might get more sun. And if you don’t own a houseplant, there’s no better day to bring one home and introduce it to your family.

I love this idea. Plants are good to have around us. We must appreciate plants more and show them appreciation and love them......just be kind to them. it is great to relieve stress levels and be happier and focus on something good.

11 Common Symptoms of a Thyroid Problem and How to Treat it Naturally

The thyroid is an endocrine gland in the shape of a butterfly, whose location is in the lower front part of the neck. Its function is to produce thyroid hormones, which are released into the blood and transferred to all body tissues. These hormones promote the proper function of the brain, heart muscles, and other organs, keep the body warm and provide body energy.
The disrupted thyroid function leads to numerous health issues, like fatigue, restlessness, weight gain, weight loss and others. Thyroid disorders are:
  • Hypothyroidism – the thyroid gland produces does not produce sufficient amounts of thyroid hormones, so the whole body and the metabolism are decelerated.
  • Hyperthyroidism – the thyroid gland produces excessive amounts of thyroid hormone, which accelerates the body’s functions, as well as the heart rate and the metabolism.
  • Thyroiditis – It is an inflammation of the thyroid gland, which happens when the thyroid is attacked by the antibodies created by the Boyd’s immune system.
  • Goiter – It is an abnormal thyroid gland enlargement which may lead to throat issues and swelling.
  • Thyroid Nodules –abnormal thyroid cells growth which creates a lump within this gland.
  • Thyroid Cancer – The thyroid gland tissues form cancer cells. This disorder affects over 45,000 annually.
Depending on the specific issue, the signs of thyroid disorders can vary, and they develop gradually. However, women are more susceptible to thyroid problems than men, and they can lead to menstrual cycle issues, problems during pregnancy and difficulty getting pregnant.
These are the most common signs of thyroid disorders:
  1. Dry skin
  2. High cholesterol levels
  3. Hoarse voice or a strange feeling in the neck
  4. Hypertension
  5. Irregular sleep patterns
  6. Limb and muscle pain
  7. Loss of libido
  8. Improper regulation of body temperature
  9. Appetite changes
  10. Exhaustion
  11. Thinning hair
Thyroid issues are a result of the deficiency of iodine, as in the case of low iodine levels, the body cannot produce enough thyroid hormones. Moreover, hypothyroidism has also been linked to selenium deficiency and its sufficient amounts lower the risk of thyroid swelling or goiter.
It has strong antioxidant properties so it can balance the hormones in the body. Namely, black walnuts are extremely high in selenium. In case you suffer from some of the signs listed above, you should consult your doctor.
You can naturally protect the thyroid and balance the levels of selenium in the body. This is how to prepare an effective natural remedy:
Ingredients:
  • 40 black walnuts
  • 35 oz or 1 kg of raw honey
Method of preparation:
Wash the black walnuts, pat them dry and put them in a Mason jar. Add the honey and do not cover it, but leave the jar in a place where it will be constantly exposed to sunlight for 40 days.
Afterward, strain and pour the liquid in a glass bottle.
Use:
Drink a teaspoon of this remedy every morning, on an empty stomach.

Learn about Aunt and Uncle Day

Aunt and Uncle Day is, as the name suggests, a day to celebrate a special set of relatives – your Aunts and Uncles.
The amount of aunts and uncles you have will vary from family to family. However, they often play a crucial role throughout your life; taking you to fun places, babysitting you when your parents are out, buying you birthday and Christmas presents and giving you important advice and support when you need it most. After all, there are some things we just don’t feel comfortable talking to our parents about.
So if you love your aunts and uncles, why not call them, spend the day with them, or send them a card or a gift? This is your day to show them how much you appreciate all of the effort they have put in, and all of the fun and laughter they have provided over the years.

How to make healthy eating unbelievably easy

Taking a Chance on Healthy Living!

One of the most important aspects of living a healthy and prosperous life is understanding "risk." By this I mean knowing how to understand and analyze situations in life that affect health. Being able to accurately weigh benefits and risks when making health decisions is very important! Too often decisions are based on incomplete or inaccurate information and this is a huge mistake with significant consequences!
Failure to accurately assess risk keeps people locked in all kinds of unhealthy situations including poor eating and exercise habits (lifestyle), relationships and jobs. Sometimes people are just afraid to step out and make a change. They see "risk" in making a change when the REAL risk comes from NOT making a change. From my perspective, living with the stress, unhappiness and frustration of indecision and poor health is the greatest risk of all, and one that is definitely not worth taking!
Accessing "risk" is nothing more than collecting information, weighing the alternatives and then making appropriate decisions based on the information.
Some risks to our health are more "real" than others. For example, it is common knowledge that obesity is associated with a wide variety of health problems. On the other hand, there are some health risks that are so remote we rarely think about them. On a practical level, eating highly processed foods and avoiding a daily dose of fresh fruits and vegetables is rarely considered serious. But, as too many have already discovered, the long range consequences of this practice are real and devastating.
Failure to accurately assess risk limits us in many ways. We imagine the "risk" of talking with our children about drugs, dating or sex and we put off having the "talk," even though the risks of NOT talking are infinitely greater. Fear of flying and public speaking are two more "risks" affecting millions of people. But practically speaking, these fears are unfounded. People ride in cars every day, even though cars are far more dangerous than commercial aircraft! It's a failure to accurately assess risk, and it limits our health, prosperity and pleasure in life.
The goods news is that failure to accurately access risk is reversible! The effects of those decisions to eat inappropriately or NOT to exercise are, as the common expression goes, "do-overs." We can effect positive change in our lives by following a few simple steps to accurately access risk:
1. Accurately define your present situation and access your health "risks". Are you eating a healthy diet? Are you getting enough exercise and good quality sleep? What are the consequences if you DON'T change? Weigh the benefits of healthier living vs the potential risks such as increased cost, inconvenience or discomfort.
2. What do you stand to gain if you change your present circumstances? Assess the "up-side" potential. Too often we look only at the "downside" risk and forget the benefits. What good things might happen if you take the risk and win?
3. Limit the "down-side" if you happen to make a wrong decision. Don't continue down a path if it does not produce results. This is especially important when following weight loss programs. If the pounds are not coming off or if the weight loss is only temporary, find a new program! You not only want to lose weight, but want to sustain the weight loss for as long as possible. Take steps to ensure this will happen. Clear, concise, realistic objectives will definitely help.
4. Reduce your risk by being smart! Understand the situation and seek the advice of experts in the field of health and nutrition. This includes finding and forming partnerships to receive support and get good advice.
5. Have a fall-back position. If the decision you make fails to produce the desired results, be prepared to take a long, hard look at the circumstances and be prepared to change what you are doing.
Everything in life involves some element of risk. Driving your car, meeting someone new, crossing the street...but we do them every day. Winners in life are willing to accept the risk and continue on their way! Get involved, be smart about how you play the game, come prepared for a few failures along the way, but don't quite. You will reap the benefits for your effort and live a happier and healthier life. I like to remember the words of the great Winston Churchill when he said, "Never, never, never give up!"

Tell an old Joke day

Learn about Tell An Old Joke Day

We all know someone for whom every day is Tell An Old Joke Day, but there’s now a day when we can all put aside our reticence and let rip with our own ‘I say, I say, I say’ and ‘Knock, knock’ chestnuts.
Tell An Old Joke Day is your opportunity to raise the nervous wreck from the quivering depths, bring the awful-smelling noseless dog back in from the cold, and press the button for the chicken stuck forever at the pedestrian crossing. Like any endangered species, old jokes must reproduce if they are not to die out entirely, and the old ones are supposed to be the best, anyway.

Important Details Regarding Healing Affirmations For Those Who Are In Pain

Professionals in the field of medicine have been able to improve health care by coming up with new and effective drugs to curb the impact of even the most dreaded diseases. Nonetheless, pharmacists and researchers have been unable to come up with a globally recognized medical procedure to cure the mind. For one to Heal with Affirmations, it is fundamental to first ensure that the mind is free from any distress.
When experiencing pain, recovery seems to be out of reach. This is natural. Therefore, the affirmations you make should be credible and true for the mind to harness its healing power. Nonetheless, the pain you go through may at times challenge these affirmations especially when in a bad health state. But by developing a positive attitude, one starts on the journey to full recovery.
From the time one is born, the natural healing power of the body has at one time been put to task. For instance, in some way which you do not comprehend, bruises and painful injuries that you sustained have healed. It is an indication that the body has capabilities to heal. For this reason, convince yourself that, for sure, physical wellness is achievable through this power and this energy is working at the very moment.
It is critical to have trust in the subconscious wisdom rather than relying on what you think. At times, you receive signs and signals from our inner selves that tend to disagree with our interests. If you decide to fight it, then the healing capabilities are greatly undermined. On the flip side, if you give credence to the information sent by the mind, this shows that you trust in this wisdom.
Affirmations for pain are meant to build confidence in the curative abilities you have to bring the required state of health. Therefore, persuade your mind to accept that all your organs are working effectively and correctly. Within you there is a strong energy that thrives on the intelligence of the mind so as to stabilize your physical and mental health. It is energy that empowers every organ to work efficiently to restore good health.
The human mind is linked to the natural forces of the universe. Just as the stars move in a synchronized manner in the universe, you have the mental capability to ensure each component of your frame works together. Besides, they are designed to function in the same way. They are capable to perform their duties simultaneously to regenerate the energy within you. Hence, take the body as a miniature universe capable of alleviating pain.
Your health depends a lot on a joyous mental state and that vitality is its song. The mind does not know any stress. Rather, this warm feeling of mental peacefulness is usually disturbed by turbulence caused by consequences poor decision making, malnutrition and lack of physical fitness exercise. On the other hand, if you cater for these needs, you heal faster.
For you to take away pain brought about by ill health take care of mind first. If you feed it with positive thoughts, the body can regain its lost fitness. Even the most qualified doctors cannot assure recovery if the body is functioning contrary to the mental instructions. The body becomes unresponsive to medical attention.

Hack Your Brain's Default Mode with Meditation

Your Body's Mechanism for Enhancing Your Health

There's a principle in medicine that applies to everyone. It doesn't matter whether you're healthy or not. It doesn't matter whether you have a genetic condition, an old injury, a nasty infection... or if you're in the prime of your life.
This principle underlies modern medicine and alternative medicine (at least, the ones that work). Every doctor and healer by other names knows this to be true.
It's the cause of more healing than anything else on the planet. It does contradictory things, like boost your immune system or restrain it, to improve your wellbeing.
And when you understand it, you can use to keep yourself safe, healthy and full of energy.
Are you ready to hear what it is?
In scientific terms, your body is amazing.
It is truly, genuinely amazing.
You're alive in a world full of things that can kill you. Injuries and infections lurk at every corner. And yet here you are.
Genetics have not changed much in the last 100,000 years. You have the same basic structure as your hunter-gatherer ancestors. They had to fight, hunt and forage for every scrap.
There were no tools except what they could make. There were no medicines except what they could gather.
In this world, they survived for decades. They laughed, wept, found love, raised families. Many of them lived full, rich lives in a world with rival tribes, terrible predators and diseases that could infect a simple scratch.
Their bodies - your body - kept them alive and well, against the odds.
Your body is amazing.
This is the principle: no medicine of any kind heals you. All it does is restore balance and remove obstacles enough for the body to heal itself.
Modern medicine knows this. The body does all the work - all doctors need to do is interfere occasionally to set it on the right track. There's nothing in a hospital that tells cells to repair a cut. Nothing, that is, except the patients.
Your body constantly heals itself. Every day, you wear yourself down. Every day, you build yourself back up. This balance can keep you alive and vibrant for decades.
But there's only so much energy to go around.
If you perceive a threat, you need to act now - maintenance can wait. If you put the wrong foods into your body, there's less of what the repair mechanisms need. Without sleep, rest and downtime, the balance tips away from health's favour.
Meditation gives your body time to do what it needs to.
It calms the system, freeing resources to go where they're needed.
Your mind strengthens, steering you towards better habits.
And it brings your awareness to what your body says it needs.
This is how meditation helps you stay healthy. It does little directly to fight off infections or repair damage. Indirectly, though, it liberates your precious resources from being squandered on the wrong things.
Your body and mind are a team. Teamwork best when both parties show up.
Self-hypnosis has the same result. By putting you in a relaxed trance and resolving unconscious issues, it gives you what you need to be your best.
It goes even deeper, too. Some self-hypnotists navigate their minds to find places of healing. This taps into the same reserves as the placebo effect, only this is conscious and deliberate.

1 HOUR Zen Music For Inner Balance, Stress Relief and Relaxation

How To Calm Down Easily: Some Zen Steps

No matter what is happening around us, we do not have to react impulsively, but can learn to respond. Giving into automatic negative reactions can become addictive and it’s important to learn how to diffuse them. The steps offered here are simple, but powerful. The more we practice them the stronger we become.
Tapping Into Our Fundamental Strength
In Zen we say, “Open the treasure house within.” This reminds us that we are all endowed with many resources that we’re not aware of, and do not use in our lives. In order to access these innate abilities, we must stop blaming and leaning on others, and turn within. As soon as we start to look within, to take responsibility for how we respond to events, we begin to tap into our fundamental strength.
Pay Attention
We are what we think about. It is easy to become fixated on a negative situation and become in the grip of self-centered thoughts. The more we give attention to that which is negative, the more strength it has to rule our lives. This can be counteracted rather easily. Take charge of your focus and attention. The power of focus is the power of life.
Spend time each day developing focus and concentration. This is also called meditation. Withdraw yourself from the external world for a period of time each day, and place your attention within. Sit with a straight back, do not move and concentrate upon your breath. Let random thoughts come and go. Do not suppress them, but do not let them grab your attention away. Count your breath from one to ten, then all over again. Do this for at least ten to fifteen minutes without moving. By not moving we are stopping what is called the monkey mind.
Stop The Monkey Mind
The monkey mind is the mind that jumps from one thing to the next, fears, demands, grabs and sabotages our lives. But when we take charge of our focus, we still and dissolve the monkey mind, and we also discover a place within which we can always return, for wisdom, strength and comfort. When we allow the external world to consume us, we are simply giving our natural treasures away.
Take Charge Of Focus
Reality continually renews and confronts us with new tasks, challenges, opportunities and solutions, day after day. Are we in touch with this ever flowing reality? Usually we focus upon what is missing, what we lack and what hasn’t worked out as we hoped it would. We do not focus upon what is available now, the gifts we are receiving and what we can give to others. It is a simple matter to turn this around.
As we take charge of our focus we dwell upon our strengths and the strengths of others, not the weaknesses. We find what is healthy and encourage that to grow. Rather than struggle to analyze and undo our patterns, we work directly with our focus. The question before us always is: What am I focusing on this moment? Am I available to what is going on, or lost somewhere in a dream?
By taking our attention off our toxic inner dialogue, and focusing upon what is going on now we interfere with the negative thoughts that are causing our suffering. However, when our focus and life are primarily self-absorbed, we live in a prison without bars. Any insult, real or imagined, can become the cause of great pain, resulting in withdrawal and retreat into fantasies.
As we choose to focus on all that we are receiving, what others need, what we can give, at a certain moment we become aware that our state of mind has become calm, balanced and positive. There’s nowhere for upset to take hold. Beyond that, as we learn to do each action with full attention, we do not dwell upon the outcome. Our joy and satisfaction comes from acting with a whole heart and mind. And, of course, when we are not absorbed by concern for outcomes, how much anxiety can we ever have?

The Most Powerful Visualization Technique to Manifest Anything You Want in Life | Law of Attraction

Why Visualization Is So Powerful

The mind is an incredibly complex and powerful thing. Even today with all of the technology and understanding that we have, we have barely scratched the surface of the full potential of what the mind can do. Regardless of how it works or what it can do, there have been people for centuries teaching us how to tap into the minds power in order to realize happiness and joy in our lives as well as live up to our full potential. Many of them have taught the power of visualization and hopefully a little understanding of how visualization works will help you tap into the resevoir of power that lies deep inside of you.
The ability to visualize your success or the things you want is in direct alignment with your getting that success or those things. The law of attraction states that you must be able to see in your minds eye what it is you want as well as feel the feelings of having those things in order to attract opportunities to you that will allow you to have those things. So why does visualization work? What is it about learning to visualize that makes it so important and valuable? It's simply a matter of how the mind works and translates information.
You see, when you look at something, a center of your brain called the visual cortex fires. It takes the different spectrum of light and translates it into a picture that we are able to understand. Here is the interesting part though. When you take the time to visualize something, your mind uses the exact same centers to see those pictures in your minds eye. To you brain, there is no difference between what your eyes are seeing out there, and what your mind is seeing in here. Your mind and your body take both of those pictures and label them as the same thing. This is very useful for you because you can begin to use your visualization to convince your mind and body that everything you want is already a part of your life. This begins to put your body and mind into alignment with having that thing you want.
So if your mind is unable to tell the difference between a daydream in your head, and a book that sits on your desk and is viewed by your eyes, then you can begin to use your visualization to attract the things you want. As you begin to do this, your body and emotions begin to vibrate at a level that allow you to feel the feelings of having what it is you want. This vibration goes out into the universe, and the universe begins to line things up in order for that visualization to become a reality. The universe must respond to that vibration, and it will, and it will begin to deliver things that will allow you to maintain that vibration. Isn't the mind an amazing thing?

The Simple Exercise That Fixes Your Breathing and Posture

A key element in almost all meditation is your breathing. Another key element is your posture, although that's mostly because it affects your breathing. Getting these right goes a long way towards making your experiences comfortable and effective.
They are also great for the rest of your life. Breathing balances your mind and your posture balances your body. Whether you want power, stability or health, you really want balance.
Luckily, one exercise corrects both at once. Talk about value for your time.
I will warn that it involves lying on the floor. If you have back issues, look after yourself first. If you have young children or pets, maybe lock the door.
Lie on your back and look up at the ceiling. You can use a pillow to support your head if you need. Without a pillow, though, you'll gain a sense of how your spine feels when properly aligned.
Memorise how your posture feels. It should be as straight and relaxed as this while meditating.
I'll come back to your posture. Let's talk about your breathing now.
Place one hand on the centre of your chest. The other should go right below your belly button.
Then, while still on the floor, breathe. Inhale and exhale as naturally as you can and notice what your hands do.
Most people will notice both hands moving. Some people will realise that only their chest moves when they breathe.
If you want to be calmer, feel less stress and have more energy, chest-breathing is not your friend. You want to spend us much time breathing with your diaphragm as possible.
Especially while meditating.
Adjust your breathing so that your chest doesn't move. Your belly should inflate and deflate like a balloon. Keep your breathing slow, steady and comfortable.
Practice this. Ten minutes of this, three times a week, will even transform how your voice sounds when you speak.
Take it easy, though. If you ever feel short of breath, don't push through that. Listen to your body at all times.
When you get used to diaphragmatic breathing, the next step is to try it while standing. The act of standing engages muscles to fight gravity, so you'll find that it's harder. Your breath will want to rise to your chest because of tension in your abdomen.
Relax and breathe until your chest doesn't move. Not even a millimetre.
And you'll find, by no coincidence at all, that the only way to breathe with your diaphragm without feeling short of breath. You'll notice that when your breathing is perfect, so is your posture.
This is a physiological change that drives psychological change. You might find that this exercise alone resolves a lot of issues in your life. If you're unlucky, it will only fix physical ones.
These improvements will lay the foundation for you to go even deeper inside your mind. If you practice the basics of self-hypnosis with this exercise, each will strengthen the other.

BRAIN HEALING SOUNDS : DOCTOR DESIGNED: FOR STUDY, MEDITATION, MEMORY, FOCUS : 100% RESULTS !

The secret to self control

Meditation and Mental Health

If you want to live a more fulfilling and satisfying life, it pays to strengthen your mental health. The stronger the pillars of your mind are, the better able you are to live the life you truly want.
A healthy mind takes action, unhindered by fear, confusion or distractions. And it keeps working when things get tough.
Your mind is the product of your entire lifestyle (and, I suppose, the reverse is also true). Looking after it is like looking after your body. You'll want to live right, eat right and sleep right. Your mind needs social contact, interesting puzzles and physical movement to stay at its best.
Looking after yourself draws on every aspect of your life. So meditation is not the whole answer, though it's certainly part of it.
Q: How does meditation improve your mental health?
Firstly, nothing I say here should be construed as medical advice. Only a licenced professional who has, you know, spoken to you would be qualified for that.
But, for most people, meditation is great training for your mind's health. Just like physical exercise keeps your body strong, meditation develops key mental skills. Focusing on the present moment keeps you from dwelling on the past or worrying about the future. Accepting what you experience reduces the sting from any negative emotion.
You don't lift weights to get good at lifting weights. You do it to become strong in your everyday life. Meditation is the same.
Some quiet time also allows your unconscious mind to work through any issues behind the scenes. When you meditate long enough, you'll have days where you come out of it feeling great. You won't know what resolved, but you'll know something did.
That makes you stronger for whatever happens next.
Q: How much should I meditate each week?
If you've never started before, take it slow. Maybe you want 10 minutes a day, three days a week.
You want to build that up. Most people find it better (and easier) when they do 20 minutes every day. That's what I do, at least.
Then sometimes I will meditate twice in a day or have a longer session (about an hour).
Whether that's right for you is up to you. I encourage you to try longer sessions, though.
Q: Does meditation help with more serious mental health issues?
It can. There's a lot of evidence that meditation is great for things like anxiety, stress and trauma - even PTSD. For serious conditions, I recommend seeking guidance - at the minimum, talk to your doctor. You probably want a good meditation coach too.
Meditation generally isn't recommended for people who hallucinate or have split personalities.
Q: I have something I want to work through but meditation isn't helping. Any thoughts?
Give it time.
If that doesn't help, learn self-hypnosis. It teaches you to get to the symbolic essence of your issues and resolve them.
